Rayner & Haynor Celebrates 30th Anniversary

MILL VALLEY, Calif.—Investment Counselor Rayner & Haynor marked its 30th year in business last month with a gathering of clients, business associates and friends at the Harbor Point Beach and Tennis Club in Mill Valley.

Rayner & Haynor, formerly Rayner Associates, Inc., was founded in 1977 by Arno Rayner at a time when there were not many fee-only money managers in the industry.  As a pioneer of this approach, Mr. Rayner quickly accumulated a substantial following in Marin that continues to this day.  The firm currently has over $250 million in assets under management.

In addition to celebrating the company’s 30-year milestone, Mr. Rayner took the opportunity to officially announce his retirement from active management of the firm. “Having been in the business of investments for over 55 years, I think it’s time for me to enjoy a good book or two.”  Mr. Rayner will retain his title of Chairman of the Board and continue to offer guidance to the firm.  “I am confident in the investment and leadership abilities of our president, Charlie Haynor, and I am pleased to be able to leave the firm in his capable hands.”

A partnership between Arno Rayner and Charlie Haynor took hold over their seventeen years working together.  Mr. Haynor was named President of the company in 1999, and the name of the firm was changed to Rayner & Haynor in 2005.  “Our success has always been founded on the success of our clients.  We are proud of our solid partnership of trust with the community,” said Haynor at the gathering.
