Hugh Ogilvie joined Rayner & Haynor in 2005, bringing with him the diverse background needed to help people with high net worth integrate the many facets of their financial life. Hugh has more than 20 years of experience building portfolios of stocks, bonds, funds, real estate and alternatives.

He started his career in the securities industry as an executive with Paine Webber and later helped found United Security Trust Company, serving as an investment consultant and senior trust officer for employee benefits clients. Most recently, he worked as a portfolio manager for Northern Trust in Marin County. His experience as a portfolio manager began with First Interstate Bank, later to become Wells Fargo Bank.

Prior to his involvement in the securities industry, Hugh sold residential and commercial real estate and, for a short period of time, sold precious metals and numismatic coins.

Hugh received a BA in economics from the University of Victoria in British Columbia, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He and his wife live in Corte Madera with their three children.
